CVE-2023-52491 2024-08-08 4.1 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: mtk-jpeg: Fix use after free bug due to error path handling in mtk_jpeg_dec_device_run In mtk_jpeg_probe, &jpeg->job_timeout_work is bound with mtk_jpeg_job_timeout_work. In mtk_jpeg_dec_device_run, if error happens in mtk_jpeg_set_dec_dst, it will finally start the worker while mark the job as finished by invoking v4l2_m2m_job_finish. There are two methods to trigger the bug. If we remove the module, it which will call mtk_jpeg_remove to make cleanup. The possible sequence is as follows, which will cause a use-after-free bug. CPU0 CPU1 mtk_jpeg_dec_... | start worker | |mtk_jpeg_job_timeout_work mtk_jpeg_remove | v4l2_m2m_release | kfree(m2m_dev); | | | v4l2_m2m_get_curr_priv | m2m_dev->curr_ctx //use If we close the file descriptor, which will call mtk_jpeg_release, it will have a similar sequence. Fix this bug by starting timeout worker only if started jpegdec worker successfully. Then v4l2_m2m_job_finish will only be called in either mtk_jpeg_job_timeout_work or mtk_jpeg_dec_device_run.
CVE-2021-47061 2024-08-08 6.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: Destroy I/O bus devices on unregister failure _after_ sync'ing SRCU If allocating a new instance of an I/O bus fails when unregistering a device, wait to destroy the device until after all readers are guaranteed to see the new null bus. Destroying devices before the bus is nullified could lead to use-after-free since readers expect the devices on their reference of the bus to remain valid.

CVE-2023-52503 2024-08-08 6.0 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tee: amdtee: fix use-after-free vulnerability in amdtee_close_session There is a potential race condition in amdtee_close_session that may cause use-after-free in amdtee_open_session. For instance, if a session has refcount == 1, and one thread tries to free this session via: kref_put(&sess->refcount, destroy_session); the reference count will get decremented, and the next step would be to call destroy_session(). However, if in another thread, amdtee_open_session() is called before destroy_session() has completed execution, alloc_session() may return 'sess' that will be freed up later in destroy_session() leading to use-after-free in amdtee_open_session. To fix this issue, treat decrement of sess->refcount and removal of 'sess' from session list in destroy_session() as a critical section, so that it is executed atomically.
CVE-2024-32502 2024-08-08 8.4 High

CVE-2021-47103 2024-08-08 7.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: inet: fully convert sk->sk_rx_dst to RCU rules syzbot reported various issues around early demux, one being included in this changelog [1] sk->sk_rx_dst is using RCU protection without clearly documenting it. And following sequences in tcp_v4_do_rcv()/tcp_v6_do_rcv() are not following standard RCU rules. [a] dst_release(dst); [b] sk->sk_rx_dst = NULL; They look wrong because a delete operation of RCU protected pointer is supposed to clear the pointer before the call_rcu()/synchronize_rcu() guarding actual memory freeing. In some cases indeed, dst could be freed before [b] is done. We could cheat by clearing sk_rx_dst before calling dst_release(), but this seems the right time to stick to standard RCU annotations and debugging facilities. CVE-2021-34959 2024-08-08 N/A
Foxit PDF Editor Square Annotation Use-After-Free Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Foxit PDF Editor. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the handling of Annotation objects. The issue results from the lack of validating the existence of an object prior to performing operations on the object. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-14360.
CVE-2024-36971 2 Linux, Redhat 8 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Openshift and 5 more 2024-08-08 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: fix __dst_negative_advice() race __dst_negative_advice() does not enforce proper RCU rules when sk->dst_cache must be cleared, leading to possible UAF. RCU rules are that we must first clear sk->sk_dst_cache, then call dst_release(old_dst). Note that sk_dst_reset(sk) is implementing this protocol correctly, while __dst_negative_advice() uses the wrong order. Given that ip6_negative_advice() has special logic against RTF_CACHE, this means each of the three ->negative_advice() existing methods must perform the sk_dst_reset() themselves. Note the check against NULL dst is centralized in __dst_negative_advice(), there is no need to duplicate it in various callbacks. Many thanks to Clement Lecigne for tracking this issue. This old bug became visible after the blamed commit, using UDP sockets.

CVE-2006-4997 3 Canonical, Linux, Redhat 3 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2024-08-07 7.5 High
The clip_mkip function in net/atm/clip.c of the ATM subsystem in Linux kernel allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (panic) via unknown vectors that cause the ATM subsystem to access the memory of socket buffers after they are freed (freed pointer dereference).
CVE-2006-4434 1 Sendmail 1 Sendmail 2024-08-07 7.5 High
Use-after-free vulnerability in Sendmail before 8.13.8 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a long "header line", which causes a previously freed variable to be referenced. NOTE: the original developer has disputed the severity of this issue, saying "The only denial of service that is possible here is to fill up the disk with core dumps if the OS actually generates different core dumps (which is unlikely)... the bug is in the shutdown code (finis()) which leads directly to exit(3), i.e., the process would terminate anyway, no mail delivery or receiption is affected."
CVE-2007-5901 3 Apple, Mit, Redhat 4 Mac Os X, Mac Os X Server, Kerberos 5 and 1 more 2024-08-07 N/A
Use-after-free vulnerability in the gss_indicate_mechs function in lib/gssapi/mechglue/g_initialize.c in MIT Kerberos 5 (krb5) has unknown impact and attack vectors. NOTE: this might be the result of a typo in the source code.
CVE-2024-26808 1 Redhat 3 Enterprise Linux, Rhel E4s, Rhel Eus 2024-08-07 5.5 Medium

CVE-2007-3929 1 Opera 1 Opera Browser 2024-08-07 N/A
Use-after-free vulnerability in the BitTorrent support in Opera before 9.22 allows user-assisted remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted header in a torrent file, which leaves a dangling pointer to an invalid object.
CVE-2007-0493 2 Isc, Redhat 2 Bind, Enterprise Linux 2024-08-07 N/A
Use-after-free vulnerability in ISC BIND 9.3.0 up to 9.3.3, 9.4.0a1 up to 9.4.0a6, 9.4.0b1 up to 9.4.0b4, 9.4.0rc1, and 9.5.0a1 (Bind Forum only) allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (named daemon crash) via unspecified vectors that cause named to "dereference a freed fetch context."
