CVE-2024-1936 1 Redhat 5 Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus, Rhel E4s and 2 more 2024-08-08 7.5 High
The encrypted subject of an email message could be incorrectly and permanently assigned to an arbitrary other email message in Thunderbird's local cache. Consequently, when replying to the contaminated email message, the user might accidentally leak the confidential subject to a third party. While this update fixes the bug and avoids future message contamination, it does not automatically repair existing contaminations. Users are advised to use the repair folder functionality, which is available from the context menu of email folders, which will erase incorrect subject assignments. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird < 115.8.1.
CVE-2024-26852 1 Redhat 5 Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus, Rhel E4s and 2 more 2024-08-08 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/ipv6: avoid possible UAF in ip6_route_mpath_notify() syzbot found another use-after-free in ip6_route_mpath_notify() [1] Commit f7225172f25a ("net/ipv6: prevent use after free in ip6_route_mpath_notify") was not able to fix the root cause. We need to defer the fib6_info_release() calls after ip6_route_mpath_notify(), in the cleanup phase. CVE-2024-38428 2 Gnu, Redhat 5 Wget, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus and 2 more 2024-08-08 9.1 Critical
url.c in GNU Wget through 1.24.5 mishandles semicolons in the userinfo subcomponent of a URI, and thus there may be insecure behavior in which data that was supposed to be in the userinfo subcomponent is misinterpreted to be part of the host subcomponent.
CVE-2024-36971 2 Linux, Redhat 8 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux, Openshift and 5 more 2024-08-08 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: fix __dst_negative_advice() race __dst_negative_advice() does not enforce proper RCU rules when sk->dst_cache must be cleared, leading to possible UAF. RCU rules are that we must first clear sk->sk_dst_cache, then call dst_release(old_dst). Note that sk_dst_reset(sk) is implementing this protocol correctly, while __dst_negative_advice() uses the wrong order. Given that ip6_negative_advice() has special logic against RTF_CACHE, this means each of the three ->negative_advice() existing methods must perform the sk_dst_reset() themselves. Note the check against NULL dst is centralized in __dst_negative_advice(), there is no need to duplicate it in various callbacks. Many thanks to Clement Lecigne for tracking this issue. This old bug became visible after the blamed commit, using UDP sockets.
CVE-2022-48793 2 Linux, Redhat 4 Linux Kernel, Rhel Aus, Rhel E4s and 1 more 2024-08-07 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: x86: nSVM: fix potential NULL derefernce on nested migration Turns out that due to review feedback and/or rebases I accidentally moved the call to nested_svm_load_cr3 to be too early, before the NPT is enabled, which is very wrong to do. KVM can't even access guest memory at that point as nested NPT is needed for that, and of course it won't initialize the walk_mmu, which is main issue the patch was addressing. Fix this for real.
CVE-2013-7423 4 Canonical, Gnu, Opensuse and 1 more 7 Ubuntu Linux, Glibc, Opensuse and 4 more 2024-08-06 N/A
The send_dg function in resolv/res_send.c in GNU C Library (aka glibc or libc6) before 2.20 does not properly reuse file descriptors, which allows remote attackers to send DNS queries to unintended locations via a large number of requests that trigger a call to the getaddrinfo function.
CVE-2024-6472 2 Redhat, The Document Foundation 6 Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus, Rhel E4s and 3 more 2024-08-06 7.8 High
Certificate Validation user interface in LibreOffice allows potential vulnerability. Signed macros are scripts that have been digitally signed by the developer using a cryptographic signature. When a document with a signed macro is opened a warning is displayed by LibreOffice before the macro is executed. Previously if verification failed the user could fail to understand the failure and choose to enable the macros anyway. This issue affects LibreOffice: from 24.2 before 24.2.5.
CVE-2013-2596 4 Linux, Motorola, Qualcomm and 1 more 10 Linux Kernel, Android, Atrix Hd and 7 more 2024-08-06 7.8 High
Integer overflow in the fb_mmap function in drivers/video/fbmem.c in the Linux kernel before 3.8.9, as used in a certain Motorola build of Android 4.1.2 and other products, allows local users to create a read-write memory mapping for the entirety of kernel memory, and consequently gain privileges, via crafted /dev/graphics/fb0 mmap2 system calls, as demonstrated by the Motochopper pwn program.
CVE-2016-5195 7 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 4 more 24 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 21 more 2024-08-06 7.0 High
Race condition in mm/gup.c in the Linux kernel 2.x through 4.x before 4.8.3 allows local users to gain privileges by leveraging incorrect handling of a copy-on-write (COW) feature to write to a read-only memory mapping, as exploited in the wild in October 2016, aka "Dirty COW."
CVE-2017-7494 3 Debian, Redhat, Samba 9 Debian Linux, Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus and 6 more 2024-08-05 9.8 Critical
Samba since version 3.5.0 and before 4.6.4, 4.5.10 and 4.4.14 is vulnerable to remote code execution vulnerability, allowing a malicious client to upload a shared library to a writable share, and then cause the server to load and execute it.
CVE-2021-47548 1 Redhat 5 Enterprise Linux, Rhel Aus, Rhel E4s and 2 more 2024-08-04 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ethernet: hisilicon: hns: hns_dsaf_misc: fix a possible array overflow in hns_dsaf_ge_srst_by_port() The if statement: if (port >= DSAF_GE_NUM) return; limits the value of port less than DSAF_GE_NUM (i.e., 8). However, if the value of port is 6 or 7, an array overflow could occur: port_rst_off = dsaf_dev->mac_cb[port]->port_rst_off; because the length of dsaf_dev->mac_cb is DSAF_MAX_PORT_NUM (i.e., 6). To fix this possible array overflow, we first check port and if it is greater than or equal to DSAF_MAX_PORT_NUM, the function returns.
CVE-2021-47566 1 Redhat 3 Rhel Aus, Rhel E4s, Rhel Tus 2024-08-04 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: proc/vmcore: fix clearing user buffer by properly using clear_user() To clear a user buffer we cannot simply use memset, we have to use clear_user(). In the x86-64 variant of clear_user(), SMAP is properly handled via clac()+stac(). To fix, properly use clear_user() when we're dealing with a user buffer.
CVE-2021-47393 1 Redhat 3 Rhel Aus, Rhel E4s, Rhel Tus 2024-08-04 4.7 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hwmon: (mlxreg-fan) Return non-zero value when fan current state is enforced from sysfs Fan speed minimum can be enforced from sysfs. For example, setting current fan speed to 20 is used to enforce fan speed to be at 100% speed, 19 - to be not below 90% speed, etcetera. This feature provides ability to limit fan speed according to some system wise considerations, like absence of some replaceable units or high system ambient temperature. Request for changing fan minimum speed is configuration request and can be set only through 'sysfs' write procedure. In this situation value of argument 'state' is above nominal fan speed maximum. Return non-zero code in this case to avoid thermal_cooling_device_stats_update() call, because in this case statistics update violates thermal statistics table range.
