CVE-2018-20679 2 Busybox, Canonical 2 Busybox, Ubuntu Linux 2025-06-09 7.5 High
An issue was discovered in BusyBox before 1.30.0. An out of bounds read in udhcp components (consumed by the DHCP server, client, and relay) allows a remote attacker to leak sensitive information from the stack by sending a crafted DHCP message. This is related to verification in udhcp_get_option() in networking/udhcp/common.c that 4-byte options are indeed 4 bytes.
CVE-2018-1000517 3 Busybox, Canonical, Debian 3 Busybox, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux 2025-06-09 8 High
BusyBox project BusyBox wget version prior to commit 8e2174e9bd836e53c8b9c6e00d1bc6e2a718686e contains a Buffer Overflow vulnerability in Busybox wget that can result in heap buffer overflow. This attack appear to be exploitable via network connectivity. This vulnerability appears to have been fixed in after commit 8e2174e9bd836e53c8b9c6e00d1bc6e2a718686e.
CVE-2017-16544 5 Busybox, Canonical, Debian and 2 more 8 Busybox, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 5 more 2025-06-09 8.8 High
In the add_match function in libbb/lineedit.c in BusyBox through 1.27.2, the tab autocomplete feature of the shell, used to get a list of filenames in a directory, does not sanitize filenames and results in executing any escape sequence in the terminal. This could potentially result in code execution, arbitrary file writes, or other attacks.
CVE-2017-15873 3 Busybox, Canonical, Debian 3 Busybox, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux 2025-06-09 5.5 Medium
The get_next_block function in archival/libarchive/decompress_bunzip2.c in BusyBox 1.27.2 has an Integer Overflow that may lead to a write access violation.
CVE-2018-16864 5 Canonical, Debian, Oracle and 2 more 16 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Communications Session Border Controller and 13 more 2025-06-09 7.8 High
An allocation of memory without limits, that could result in the stack clashing with another memory region, was discovered in systemd-journald when a program with long command line arguments calls syslog. A local attacker may use this flaw to crash systemd-journald or escalate his privileges. Versions through v240 are vulnerable.
CVE-2018-16865 5 Canonical, Debian, Oracle and 2 more 16 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Communications Session Border Controller and 13 more 2025-06-09 7.8 High
An allocation of memory without limits, that could result in the stack clashing with another memory region, was discovered in systemd-journald when many entries are sent to the journal socket. A local attacker, or a remote one if systemd-journal-remote is used, may use this flaw to crash systemd-journald or execute code with journald privileges. Versions through v240 are vulnerable.
CVE-2019-3843 5 Canonical, Fedoraproject, Netapp and 2 more 9 Ubuntu Linux, Fedora, Cn1610 and 6 more 2025-06-09 7.8 High
It was discovered that a systemd service that uses DynamicUser property can create a SUID/SGID binary that would be allowed to run as the transient service UID/GID even after the service is terminated. A local attacker may use this flaw to access resources that will be owned by a potentially different service in the future, when the UID/GID will be recycled.
CVE-2019-3844 4 Canonical, Netapp, Redhat and 1 more 8 Ubuntu Linux, Cn1610, Cn1610 Firmware and 5 more 2025-06-09 7.8 High
It was discovered that a systemd service that uses DynamicUser property can get new privileges through the execution of SUID binaries, which would allow to create binaries owned by the service transient group with the setgid bit set. A local attacker may use this flaw to access resources that will be owned by a potentially different service in the future, when the GID will be recycled.
CVE-2018-16866 5 Canonical, Debian, Netapp and 2 more 26 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Active Iq Performance Analytics Services and 23 more 2025-06-09 3.3 Low
An out of bounds read was discovered in systemd-journald in the way it parses log messages that terminate with a colon ':'. A local attacker can use this flaw to disclose process memory data. Versions from v221 to v239 are vulnerable.
CVE-2022-3328 1 Canonical 2 Snapd, Ubuntu Linux 2025-06-03 7.8 High
Race condition in snap-confine's must_mkdir_and_open_with_perms()
CVE-2022-40277 3 Canonical, Joplinapp, Linux 3 Ubuntu Linux, Joplin, Linux Kernel 2025-05-20 7.8 High
Joplin version 2.8.8 allows an external attacker to execute arbitrary commands remotely on any client that opens a link in a malicious markdown file, via Joplin. This is possible because the application does not properly validate the schema/protocol of existing links in the markdown file before passing them to the 'shell.openExternal' function.
CVE-2015-0240 4 Canonical, Novell, Redhat and 1 more 9 Ubuntu Linux, Suse Linux Enterprise Desktop, Suse Linux Enterprise Server and 6 more 2025-05-09 N/A
The Netlogon server implementation in smbd in Samba 3.5.x and 3.6.x before 3.6.25, 4.0.x before 4.0.25, 4.1.x before 4.1.17, and 4.2.x before 4.2.0rc5 performs a free operation on an uninitialized stack pointer, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted Netlogon packets that use the ServerPasswordSet RPC API, as demonstrated by packets reaching the _netr_ServerPasswordSet function in rpc_server/netlogon/srv_netlog_nt.c.
CVE-2022-40617 5 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 2 more 5 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 2 more 2025-05-06 7.5 High
strongSwan before 5.9.8 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service in the revocation plugin by sending a crafted end-entity (and intermediate CA) certificate that contains a CRL/OCSP URL that points to a server (under the attacker's control) that doesn't properly respond but (for example) just does nothing after the initial TCP handshake, or sends an excessive amount of application data.
CVE-2018-2826 3 Canonical, Netapp, Oracle 18 Ubuntu Linux, Cloud Backup, Clustered Data Ontap and 15 more 2025-05-06 8.3 High
Vulnerability in the Java SE component of Oracle Java SE (subcomponent: Libraries). The supported version that is affected is Java SE: 10. Difficult to exploit vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise Java SE. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and while the vulnerability is in Java SE, attacks may significantly impact additional products. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in takeover of Java SE. Note: This vulnerability applies to Java deployments, typically in clients running sandboxed Java Web Start applications or sandboxed Java applets, that load and run untrusted code (e.g., code that comes from the internet) and rely on the Java sandbox for security. This vulnerability does not apply to Java deployments, typically in servers, that load and run only trusted code (e.g., code installed by an administrator). CVSS 3.0 Base Score 8.3 (Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H).
